To get the thoughts out
Write them down
Though not a lot now
More will come
As you ruminate
Life lessons,
In you, will awake
This poem is based on personal reflection.
I had a concussion and blacked out around 10 years ago. It was a bit of balance and vision recovery. Since then, I don't play the piano (only for my ears in quality) or read like I used to. I decided to push myself into getting a masters. Crazy, right? And I would hear my husband say, 'Find your words" a lot when we were talking. We kind of joked about it. I would replace words in sentences like couch for bench. And it was fascinating how my brain came up with that.
But writing became more of a joy. I find it easier to write than speak. A good thing because getting a masters in education requires a lot of written reflection which I call blah blah. Lol.
I have always been one who remembers things by writing them down. Each church talk is a new gem- a source for writing. Never do old talks or previous poems get in the way- even after 7,000 poems!
I ponder and feel the words/the thought that get me started. And I know when I'm done because I got "all the words out".
